  • Tim

    Hike Leader

“Hi, I'm Timbo and I've been leading hikes for around 20 years and I love beautiful scenery as well as the tough stuff. I once took the actor Geena Davis out for a drink without the faintest idea who she was.”

  • Tony

    Hike Leader.

"Although I grew up in London, having an Austrian father meant spending every summer vacation roaming in the hills and mountains over there from an early age, so hiking in the great outdoors is in my blood and remains a major activity for me. I enjoy leading groups as part of the AAA team and aim to be an Affable Altitude Advocate, including listening to people's life experiences and exchanging ideas en-route! My other interests include yoga and other wisdom traditions, self-development, healthy living, creating beauty in my surroundings, for example by gardening, music and much more besides. Fun fact: for 7 years I somewhat crazily had two jobs in parallel, running a 50 acre organic apple farm in Herefordshire alongside working in software development - the former taught me a enormous amount about life compared to a desk job! I currently live in rural Northumberland, where I also run AAA events from time to time."

  • Colin

    Hike Leader

“Hi, I’m Colin, a hike leader with AAA that I’ve been going with since 2018. After extensive travel and adventure, I joined AAA to explore more of the UK and quickly became part of a vibrant community, enjoying unforgettable weekends between my backpacking trips. With navigation skills gained from scouting and a passion for holistic wellbeing, I turned my hobby into a side hustle as a leader—something AAA wholeheartedly supported. When I’m not leading hikes, I work as a solutions architect in the Houses of Parliament, with great work life balance making use of my first aid training in both roles.”

Trained Mountain Leader & Qualified Wilderness First Aider.

  • Yvonne

    Hike Leader

“Born in Munich, mountains were always second nature to me - I was put on skis at 3, but refused to go until I was 5! I have walked the Austrian alps in lederhosen and skied off piste .. now that I reside in the UK, I walk the lowlands of the British Isles where there are many more gentle delights to be had.“
