Join us for a spectacular Sussex adventure combining two historic villages, two castles, beautiful countryside and the Arundel Medieval Festival, with a choice of two hiking options to suit your preferred pace and distance.
We’ll begin in the beautiful village of Amberley, nestled beneath the South Downs, and make our way towards historic Arundel, finishing right in the heart of the medieval festivities.

The day gives you a choice of two ways to experience Amberley and the surrounding countryside:

For those wanting the full hiking experience, we’ll take a scenic route through the Sussex countryside towards Arundel, taking in the landscapes and historic sights along the way.

Prefer a more relaxed day? There’s also a shorter circular option around Amberley, giving you the chance to explore the village and surrounding countryside without committing to the longer hike.
⚔️ Arrive in Medieval Arundel
Our destination is historic Arundel, dominated by its spectacular castle and transformed for the Arundel Medieval Festival.
Once we arrive, we’ll have time to enjoy the festival atmosphere, explore the medieval encampment and entertainment, grab some food or a drink, and soak up the atmosphere of one of Sussex’s most historic towns.
