    Misha

    Founder, Meetup & Event Organiser & Hike Leader

    Trained Mountain Leader - Qualified Wilderness First Aider and Ex-Army

    Misha has been leading hikes on Meetup since 2002, before setting up AAA in 2009. Passionate about the outdoors, his skills range from navigating without a compass and identifying plants, to organising logistics to a high standard, and baking top-notch cakes!

    Meetup & Event Organiser & Hike Leader

    Trained Mountain Leader, Qualified Wilderness First Aider, Ex-Army and former MICE

    Mike has always indulged in outdoor activities, including mountain biking, sea kayaking and canoeing, which, combined with a career in high-profile corporate events and being an Army LRRP Reservist, have made him an excellent team member since he joined AAA in 2010.

    Nick has been hiking with AAA for many years and has a natural talent for leading hiking events. His calm leadership always ensures a joyful day when hiking with him. Nick frequently leads the energetic and challenging hikes.

    Tatiana

    Event Host & Catering Organiser

    Qualified Wilderness First Aider


    Tatiana plays a key role in organising our trips. She finds unique locations for our European getaways, as well as plans menus and oversees the preparation of our renowned meals during UK weekend trips. She loves exploring new destinations and ensuring every detail is in place for a great adventure.

    Colin

    Day Hike & Social Event Organiser & Hike Leader

    Hike Leader & Qualified ITC Level 3 Award in Outdoor First Aid

    Colin joined AAA in 2018 to explore more of the UK and quickly became part of a vibrant community, and developed his navigation skills gained from scouting. Colin soon turned his hobby and passion into a side hustle as a leader—something AAA wholeheartedly supported.

    Yvonne

    Day Hike Event Organiser & Hike Leader

    Trained Lowland Leader and Qualified Wilderness First Aider

    Yvonne was born in Munich, so the mountains were always second nature to her. She was put on skis at 3, but refused to go until she was 5. Yvonne has walked the Austrian Alps in lederhosen and skied off piste. Now that she reside in the UK, she walks the lowlands and uplands of the British Isles, where there are many more gentle delights to be had.

    Duncan has been hiking with AAA in the UK and overseas for many years before he decided he wanted to lead some hikes. Duncan can now be found planning and hosting his own AAA hikes alongside the other Day Hike Leaders, as well as hosting overseas events for other companies.

    Mike tall frame can often be found walking a long distance routes and enjoying some wild camping in the UK, if he’s not hiking overseas. His extensive travel knowledge can often inspire your own travels, just don’t ask him about anything Welsh ;-)

    Silvia loves the outdoors, caught the hiking bug in 2013 and started leading hikes for AAA in 2024. She is passionate about maps, running in the mountains and eating Haribos whilst planning the next adventure.

    Timbo has been leading hikes for around 20 years, and he loves beautiful scenery as well as the tough stuff. He’s also known to entertain you with the many funny short stories from his life.

    Hike Leader

    Trained Mountain Leader & Qualified Wilderness First Aider.

    Having an Austrian father meant Tony spent every summer roaming in the Austrian mountains from an early age, which has stayed in his blood. Tony also enjoys yoga and other wisdom traditions, self-development, healthy living, and creating beauty in my surroundings. Tony currently lives in rural Northumberland, where he also hosts AAA events from time to time.

    Trained Mountain Leader, Qualified Wilderness First Aider & Ex-Army

    Jez joined the AAA team in 2015 and is known for his impressive fitness and for leading challenging hikes. During his military career, he provided medical expertise in demanding locations, including serving as an Expedition Medic on Mt. Kenya. Jez is also a freelance cameraman and a passionate gear enthusiast, offering expert advice on outdoor equipment.

    Jan is a bit of a whippet when it comes to hiking, so can usually be found zooming up mountains, even on the Challenging hikes we offer. However, he clearly finds time to chat, as he met his now-wife while out hiking, and now they enjoy travelling to some interesting destinations, while still finding time to lead hikes for AAA
