Day hike description
Join us for a scenic hike through the historic Epping Forest, via high beach ghost (a story I’ll tell on route) past a few ice cream stops, ending at Wanstead for the festival and cuckfields pub. This route takes you through ancient woodlands, serene lakes, and charming open spaces, offering a refreshing escape from the city. Wanstead Park was once home to Wanstead House, where Queen Elizabeth I is believed to have stayed. The hike finishes in Wanstead Village, a vibrant area on the Central Line, just 20 minutes from central London.
Highlights:
• Explore the vast Epping Forest, one of London’s largest and oldest woodlands
• Walk along peaceful lakes and natural trails, surrounded by diverse wildlife
• Visit Wanstead Park, a historic 18th-century landscaped garden with stunning scenery
